WHO WE ARE

As a dedicated tracker fund manager with $4.7bn assets under management, Old Mutual Global Index Trackers is poised to become a major Emerging Market based investment house.

We manage a range of products for institutional investors.  With offices in Boston and Johannesburg, we are well placed to service our global client base.

We are a subsidiary of Old Mutual Investment Group (South Africa), the asset management arm of Old Mutual South Africa.  Old Mutual is an international long-term savings group, based in London and operating in 34 countries.

We believe that being part of this global company, and being based in South Africa, allows us to combine first world corporate governance, compliance and investment expertise with emerging market costs - the best of both worlds.

It is our belief that being an established Emerging Markets player dedicated to tracker fund management; we have a competitive advantage that aids us in our goal of becoming a low-cost investment provider offering potential fundamental alpha.

We have been managing a range of South African-based index tracker funds since 2001, under the brand Dibanisa Fund Managers. We have a strong South African institutional client base including government-owned, private sector and multi-management institutions.

Old Mutual plc is based in London with international operations spanning asset management, life assurance, banking and general insurance.  The group has $449billion* assets under management across Africa (16%), the US (61%), Europe (22%) and Asia (1%).   Old Mutual plc is listed on the London Stock Exchange as well as the Johannesburg (South African), Namibian, Malawian and Zimbabwean stock exchanges.

Old Mutual Asset Management (US) consists of 18 distinct boutique firms using active investment strategies, and is independent of OMGxT.

Old Mutual (South Africa) Ltd was founded in 1845, as a mutual society, and listed in 1999.  This business has $55.1 billion* assets under management, making it a major player in the South African financial services industry.  With its head office in Johannesburg, it utilizes an extensive branch network to service its investors and policyholders across Southern Africa.

Old Mutual Investment Group (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (OMIGSA) OMIGSA is a multi-boutique investment business with more than 40 years of investment experience.  Based in Cape Town, the company comprises a range of independent, highly focused investment boutiques, of which Old Mutual Global Index Trackers is the specialist index tracking house.

One Stone Capital (Pty) Ltd was established in 2001 and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. It operates in the financial services sector via their diversified subsidiaries including asset management, stock broking and financial product distribution for the retail market.

Old Mutual Global Index Trackers (Pty) Ltd (OMGxT) OMGxT is a South African-based asset management business.  The business was established in 2001, with Old Mutual becoming the majority shareholder in 2006.  Originally focused only on the South African market, the company launched its range of global and emerging market equity indices tracker solutions in 2009. The firm registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 2009.

Old Mutual Global Index Trackers (US),  is based in Boston, USA, and was established in 2009.

(OMGxT) is a South African-based asset management business.  The business was established in 2001, with Old Mutual becoming the majority shareholder in 2006.  Originally focused only on the South African market, the company launched its range of global, emerging market and bond indices tracker solutions in 2009. The firm registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 2009.

Tendai is a co-founder of the One Stone Capital (previously UC Capital) Group and Old Mutual Global Index Trackers (Pty) Limited. He holds the CFA Charter from the US based CFA institute and a BCOMPT (Accounting Science degree from South African-based UNISA). He has 15 year's experience in the asset management, investment and banking arena in both the UK and South Africa. He has worked for Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK), Robert Flemings (JP Morgan), BOE and Southern Life. Tendai serves as group chief executive officer for Old Mutual Global Index Trackers, and is also a member of One Stone Capital's Audit and Remuneration committees and trustee for the Musikavanhu Investment Trust and Inhlakanipho Education and Development Trust.

CFA. Managing Director of Dibanisa Fund Managers (SA) and Head of Investments

Craig is a co-founder of the One Stone Capital (previously UC Capital) Group. He has ten year's executive management experience and is the managing director of OMGxT's South African-based fund management business - Dibanisa Fund Managers (previously Umbono Fund Managers). He is a CFA Charter holder and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a postgraduate qualification in Business Administration. He also sat the South African Futures Examinations. Craig has been an asset manager for 15 years, with five years spent at SCMB Asset Management as a unit trust (mutual fund) manager.

Nomhle currently serves as Group Chief Executive Officer of One Stone Capital (Pty) Ltd (previously UC Capital (Pty) Ltd). She is also the Chairperson of One Stone Securities (Pty) Ltd and One Stone As'Investe (Pty) Ltd and is also a member of the One Stone Audit committee. Nomhle is on the Boards of Putco Holdings and Steffanuti Bressan. Her strong leadership qualities were also evident during her tenure as the CEO of Blue IQ Investment Holding, Executive Director, WIP Private Equity and Executive Director and founding member of Women Investment Portfolio Holdings (WIPHOLD). She also worked as a Management Trainee for Anglo American Corporation after her overseas stint in stockbroking for Oppenheimer & Co, New York and Atlanta as well as Smith Barney Harris Upham Brokerage House, Atlanta.

Marinda is responsible for business development that meets the needs of clients in the EMEA regions. Previously she held the position of a senior executive for Old Mutual Investment Group (SA) (OMIGSA) for 10 years, responsible for the distribution of both conventional and alternative asset classes to the institutional and wholesale markets in South Africa.

Brett Pohl

Brett Pohl

Chief Compliance Officer

Brett joined the company in March 2011. He has a BSc in Business Administration and 14 years experience in the investment industry, of which eight years have been in a compliance role. Prior to joining OMGxT, Brett was the Compliance Supervisor at Batterymarch Financial Management, where he implemented a range of risk management tools. Brett's previous experience includes time at Fidelity Investments and State Street in compliance and account manager positions.

Kerrin Smith

Kerrin has been with the Old Mutual Group for 14 years. She began her career in the Old Mutual Life company in an actuarial capacity, before moving in Old Mutual Investment Group South Africa (OMIGSA). Kerrin has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cape Town, is a member of the Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa and FASSA. Within OMIGSA, she has experience in a number of different areas of the business such as product development, business strategy, as well as Marketing and Communications. She is currently responsible for ensuring that investment group has the right range of boutiques and capabilities to deliver to Old Mutual's client needs. Helping to ensure that OMIGSA partners successfully with boutiques, she also collaborates with the boutiques, providing a business perspective on their operations, positioning and product strategy.

Peter joined Old Mutual Investment Group South Africa (OMIGSA) in 2007 and is responsible for the strategic and development initiatives for OMIGSA. Previously he was a Head of Corporate Finance at Old Mutual South Africa for nine years. Peter also worked at Goldman Sachs International in London for five years and at Deloitte for two years. He has 18 years of work experience in the financial services industry. Peter's qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce, Mater of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.

Rian has overall responsibility for all South African legal and regulatory matters within Old Mutual Investment Group South Africa (OMIGSA). Rian has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor in Law degrees as well as 18years' experience in legal and regulatory matters relating to the financial markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and asset management industry.
